At Achieve Obedience Academy, LLC, we believe effective dog training should be humane, ethical, and results-driven. We understand that training your dog can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to do it alone. Our experienced trainers guide you and your dog every step of the way using LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) training principles, as defined by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).

Our approach prioritizes your dog’s emotional well-being, clear communication, and scientifically supported training methods. We focus on positive reinforcement and thoughtful behavior modification to build trust, confidence, and lasting results. We do not use aversive devices such as electronic collars, nor do we employ harsh or punitive training methods. Our Philosophy
At Achieve Obedience Academy, LLC, our training is guided by LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) principles, as defined by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). In simple terms, this means we use the most humane, effective methods available—always prioritizing your dog’s emotional well-being.
We are a science-based, force-free training facility that focuses on positive reinforcement and clear communication. Our approach builds confidence in both dogs and handlers, strengthens trust, and creates a deeper understanding between you and your dog. By teaching dogs what to do rather than punishing unwanted behavior, we help create reliable results that last beyond the training session.
All training is conducted using flat collars or martingales and standard leads. We do not use aversive tools such as electronic collars or harsh training methods. Our goal is to empower you with the skills and knowledge needed to confidently guide your dog toward success.

LIMA—Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive—is widely recognized as the ethical standard in modern dog training. Leading veterinary and behavior organizations, including the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), support training approaches that prioritize animal welfare, learning science, and the human–animal bond.
Research consistently shows that aversive devices and harsh training techniques—such as electronic collars and punishment-based methods—can increase fear, anxiety, and aggression while damaging trust and communication between dogs and their handlers. These methods are not only outdated, but can also pose significant emotional and physical risks.
